Future of Online Project Sharing

 
 

I hosted a panel at World Maker Faire covering "The Future of Online Project Sharing". The panel, and was joined by the Product Manager from Instructables, as well as representatives from Hackster-io, MakerShare (Maker Media's project sharing initiative), and Hackaday-io.

The key themes for the talk were:

  • Teaching Technology -The rise of novice-experts and P2P technical education

  • Access to Learning - Closing the gap between knowledge and practice in the digital age

  • Engagement and content strategy - How do we navigate the balance between serving our audience and serving our contributors?

The talk was attended by educators and content creators interested in how they might best reach their intended audience, be it their in-classroom students or a complete stranger across the world trying to learn a new skill.
